    Bike to Work 2022 – join the contest

     


    Aid us in creating a greener future ! This year UPJŠ joins the contest Bike to Work once again ! If you are interested in joining:

    1. Create a team of 2 to 4 people.
    2. Register the team at dopracenabicykli.eu by June 7.
    3. Download DPNB app from Google Play or App Store, and register your rides.
    4. Complete at least 15 rides and join the UPJŠ competition for biking accessories.
    The competition lasts from June 1 to June 30, and you can move around with scooters, bikes, public transport, or on foot (cars are excluded).

    Festival Iné cesty

    Ekocentrum Sosna in cooperation with the Faculty of Science is organizing Festival Iné cesty on April 1 & 2, 2022.

    The festival offers exhibition of photographies with commentaries and stories of travelers, scientists, journalists etc. all centered around the topics of ecology, ecological tourism, and protection of nature.

    •  Provision of meals is possible in compliance with the PHA SR.

    •  Shops, churches, services (e.g. hairdressers, beauty parlors etc.) are available to vaccinated and recovered people (the OP regime).

    ATTENTION! Current information about teaching at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine

    Due to the valid ” Government Resolution of the Slovak Republic No. 695 of November 24, 2021″, the form of teaching at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine WILLl NOT CHANGE in the following days.
        As there is an exception to the curfew in points C/1 and C/16 (ie between 05:00 and 20:00 for transportation to and from the employment of a school staff member, if this person proves by an employer certificate stating the working hours and place of work, and for the student’s journey to and from university), teaching at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine remains in full-time form at preclinical and clinical workplaces with a limited number of students as before (currently: COVID automat – black color).

    Rector’s Order No. 12/2021

    In connection with the recently announced national lockdown, a new Rector´s Order No. 12/2021 has been issued.

    •  Access to sports facilities and the Botanical Garden is prohibited.
    •  Activities of the Counselling Centre (UNIPOC) are available individually in OTP       regime.
    •  The University Library is available in OP regime.

    Prime Minister Eduard Heger thanked our students for their help during the Covid-19 pandemic

    The Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Eduard Heger, visited the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ met with representatives of medical students and appreciated their significant help to the Slovak healthcare system during the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Hundreds of students at the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ helped out during the nationwide testing, at patient trials, or in COVID wards.

    Teaching – combined regime with an emphasis on the on-site tuition in the VTR (“vaccinated-tested-recovered”) regime.

    Accommodation at MEI Hostel for foreign students

    All foreign students are required to provide a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours. Without the appropriate test, the accommodation at MEI Hostel is not possible.

    Students from Ukraine will also be required to provide a negative PCR test within 48 hours of accommodation.

    New Covid Warning System

    A new Covid Warning System will come into effect on August 16, 2021. The system will consist of five tiers with different measures being implemented on each one of them.

    Starting on August 16, 2021, Košice will be assigned to the second (orange) tier. Get to know more about the upcoming measures.

    Are you an ardent biker or do you just want to promote eco-friendly means of transportation ? Make sure to join up the Bike to Work contest. Team up with our University by registering at dopracenabicykli.eu, prove at least 15 trips to/from school on bicycle or scooter, and you may win one of the many attractive prizes !

    Registration is possible until June 7, 2021. Competition lasts until June 30, 2021 and prizes will be awarded between June 1 and June 2, 2021.

    Rector’s Order 06/2021

    Dear students,
    please notice the most recent Rector’s Order No. 06/2021 dealing with the effects of Covid automat on the implementation of teaching at the university.

    The Implementation of Teaching from March 22

    According to the latest Rector’s Order No. 5/2021, the following rules will come into effect from March 22:

    7. Full-activity of the University Library is possible. Entry to library workplaces is only possible with negative test result (depends on the Covid automat).

    8. Accomodation in Student Dormitories is allowed for students involved in full-time teaching and after providing negative RT-PCR or antigen test in the frequency required by the Covid automat.

    9. The consumption of food in Student Canteens is allowed in compliance with the required hygenic standards.

    11. & 12. Practical teaching for students of the Faculties of Medicine, Science and Art is allowed. The information about which programmes and subjects will be implemented in person is to be published by March 15. Final theses are to be submitted in electronic form.

    COVID-19 Traffic Light System at the Faculty of Medicine

    Aiming at the clarification of the current regulations, the Faculty of Medicine published a COVID-19 Traffic Light System determining the form of teaching at individual levels of the pandemic situation.

    Teaching in Summer Semester 2020/2021

    According to the latest Rector’s Order No. 03/2021, the teaching in SS 2020/2021 will proceed as follows:

    a. Lectures, seminars and other forms of educational activities only by the distance method until further notice, with the exception mentioned under letter b.

    b. from February 15, 2021, practical training of students from the Faculty of Medicine is allowed according to the instructions of the Chief Hygienist and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
