Free Movers,
Welcome!

Foreign students who want to add an international dimension to their degrees can apply to undertake a short-term stay for studies (a semester or an academic year), research or traineeship at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJŠ) also as free movers – i.e. independently, without being part of a specific scholarship/exchange programme (e.g. Erasmus+, National Scholarship Programme, International Visegrad Fund, CEEPUS etc.)

Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

Basic Information

Free movers do not get any scholarship/grant from UPJŠ. UPJŠ does not require any tuition fees from free movers.

Free movers must be officially enrolled in a degree program at their home university during the application procedure and during the whole period of their free mover stay at our university.

Free movers at UPJŠ are centrally administered by the rectorate-level International Relations and Internationalisation Office, but the admission procedure takes place at a relevant faculty, institute or department. Please note that the admission requirements for free movers are set independently by each faculty, institute or department and the admittance to study programmes, research stays and traineeships is limited (depending on the capacities, possibilities and a decision of a relevant faculty, institute or department).

We prefer students from member countries of the European Higher Education Area.
