Body Donors for the Department of Anatomy will be Remembered by the Commemorative Tablet

On Thursday, the 5th of December 2013, the Commemorative Tablet for body donors to the Department of Anatomy of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was unveiled, and the event was attended by the representatives of the University and the Faculty of Medicine, employees of the Faculty’s Department of Anatomy, as well as students. The winged brass sculpture was created by Ing. Tatiana Feňová, and the motto is “You flew away, so you could remain in our knowledge“, best describes the thought behind body donorship for research purposes. The creation of this tablet was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport through the KEGA Agency.
“At our department, we value the donation of a body as a most noble act, and because of that, we treat it with all the respect it deserves. We want to express our thanks for this great gift to the deceased, who during their lives decided to donate their bodies,“ said prof. MUDr. Darina Kluchová, PhD., the head of the Department of Anatomy of the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice.
