Memorandum of understanding

The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, the Technical University of Košice, and the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Joint Research and Development Center, the European Science and Research Association, and the Košice Regional Chamber of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, July 4, 2019. The purpose of the memorandum is to increase research and scientific capacities in the field of applied research in the city of Košice, in the Košice and Prešov self-governing regions as well as in the Slovak Republic, and to apply the research results in the real economy, and also to increase research and scientific capacities in the field of basic and experimental research in the city of Košice, in the Košice and Prešov self-governing regions as well as in the Slovak Republic. The three universities were represented by the rector of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice prof. RNDr. Pavol Sovák, CSc., the bursar of the university RNDr. Ing. Michal Tkáč, PhD., by the rector of the Technical University of Košice prof. Ing. Stanislav Kmeť, CSc., and by the rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice Dr. h. c. prof. MVDr. Jana Mojžišová, PhD. on the signing ceremony. Among the guests were Vladimir Sukharev and Dimitri Svetogorov from the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Chairman of the Joint Research and Science Center Ing. Michal Janko, a member of the Joint Research and Science Center Peter Iatsyshyn, the Chairman of the Board of the European Association for Science and Research Viliam Závodský, the Director of the Košice Regional Chamber of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Monika Kočiová M.A., and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Košice Regional Chamber of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry JUDr. Igor Cap, MBA.
