Italian ambassador meets UPJŠ students for discussion

On September 26, 2025, H.E. Gianclemente De Felice, the Italian ambassador to the Slovak Republic, visited Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice for a discussion with students from two faculties, medicine and arts. He was welcomed at the UPJŠ Rector’s Office by Rector Prof. MUDr. Daniel Pella, PhD. together with Dr. h. c. Prof. Mgr. Slávka Tomaščíková, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Relations, doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD., University Professor, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, JUDr. Ľudmila Elbert, PhD., University Associate Professor, and Vice-Rector for Undergraduate and Lifelong Learning, as well as Prof. Mgr. Renáta Panocová, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Arts of UPJŠ. In addition to discussing current cooperation in providing Italian language courses, they also discussed active cooperation between UPJŠ and Italian universities, cooperation within the Erasmus+ program, and the planned development of cooperation with new partners acquired during the visit of Rector Pella and Vice-Rector Tomaščíková to Rome in January 2025. The discussion took place at the Šafátik Chamber at the Rectorate of UPJŠ.

Accompanied by Vice-Rector Tomaščíková and Dean Panocová, the ambassador continued his visit to the Dean’s Office of the UPJŠ Faculty of Arts, where he was awaited by students of the faculty. The program continued at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine. H. E. Gianclemente De Felice and Vice-Rector Slávka Tomaščíková visited the Center for Simulator and Virtual Medicine at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine, where they were accompanied by its director, MDDr. Jakub Jánošík. After the tour, a meeting with students of the Faculty of Medicine took place.
