Staff members of the HR departments from various faculties, the Rector’s Office, and other units of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice participated in a two-day professional training programme focused on labour law and employment of foreign nationals. The aim of the training was to deepen participants’ knowledge of legislation in force and strengthen their practical skills in human resources management.
The first part of the training, The Labour Code for HR Professionals, provided a comprehensive interpretation of labour law in practice, including the amendment to the Labour Code effective from 1 January 2025. Participants learned about the fundamental principles of labour law, practical examples, and current case law.
The second day was devoted to the topic Employment of Foreign Nationals. The training offered an overview of employers’ legal obligations when hiring persons from abroad – including third-country nationals, EU citizens, students, seasonal workers, and Ukrainian citizens.
The two-day training, which took place on 27 and 28 October 2025 and was attended by a total of 20 employees, also included the analysis of case studies and opportunities for individual consultations with the instructors.
The training was carried out under the project Audit of the level of internationalisation and implementation of internationalisation projects of higher education institutions and research institutions (Activity 2.3).
