Prof. MUDr. Daniel Pella, PhD., Rectorof UPJŠ. together with Prof. JUDr. Miroslav Štrkolec, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Law at UPJŠ, welcomed the Rector of the University of Białystok, Prof. dr. hab. Mariusz Poplawski, who visited our university on the occasion of the 25th annual international scientific conference PUBLIC FINANCE, TAXATION and FINANCIAL REGULATION in times of multi-crisis.
The conference, held from September 24 to 26, 2025, is organized by the Faculty of Law of UPJŠ and its Department of Financial Law, Tax Law and Economics in cooperation with the University of Bialystok and its International Center of Public Finance and Tax Law Research. More than 80 experts from the V4 countries will meet at the UPJŠ Rector’s Office during the conference.
The University of Bialystok, with its 15 faculties, is one of the largest universities in Poland. During the joint meeting, Rector Prof. Pella highly praised the level of Polish universities and considers the visit to be another step towards the internationalization of Polish-Slovak cooperation.
“Cooperation between the two universities began about 20 years ago and was initiated by the then Rector of UPJŠ (2003–2007) Prof. h. c. Prof. JUDr. Vladimír Babčák, CSc., and the dean of the UPJŠ Faculty of Law (2003–2011), Prof. h. c. JUDr. Mária Bujňáková, CSc.,” added Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Štrkolec.
