The ceremonial opening of the reconstructed building for leisure activities for students of the P.J. Šafárik University in Košice took place in Thursday, June 4, 2015. The building was symbolically opened by prof. MUDr. Ladislav Mirossay, DrSc., the rector of the P.J. Šafárik University in Košice, and by the vice-mayor of Košice MUDr. Renáta Lenártová in the presence of the planner, contractor, the members of the university’s management, the deans, the representatives of the faculties, university workplaces, and other invited guests. The new rooms will be open for concerts, theatre performances, and exhibitions, and the student workshops, and other student events will also have access to the building from the academic year 2015/2016, from September 2015. A café with a terrace is also part of the building on the ground floor, while on the first floor there is an architecturally interesting social hall with a raised stage area, which is spatially connected with the attic. The attractive attic space will serve as an open gallery with a view to the social hall.
