UPJŠ graduation ceremony

In the academic year 2024/2025 nearly 1,500 graduates successfully completed their studies at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. The end of June was marked by a festive atmosphere, with UPJŠ students who successfully passed their state exams receiving their diplomas at the graduation ceremony. In the auditorium of Faculty of Medicine, in front of university and faculty officials, their parents, relatives, and friends, the graduates solemnly took an oath over several days, confirming that they would perform their future profession responsibly and in accordance with the values of their alma mater.


A total of 498 graduates of study programs taught in Slovak and English received their diplomas from the management of the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine. Sixteen students at the bachelor’s and master’s levels received the Dean’s Award for outstanding academic performance. During the graduation ceremony, five students were awarded the Rector’s Award for outstanding academic results, successful representation of the university and faculty in student organizations and associations, and artistic activities.


At the Faculty of Science of UPJŠ, 106 bachelor’s and 99 master’s students successfully completed their studies, of which the dean awarded 12 students for their outstanding academic results, successful representation of the faculty, active participation in scientific publications, exemplary civic attitude, and popularization activities. Seven students received the Rector’s Award for representing the university and faculty at scientific student conferences, impressive publishing activities, excellent academic results, and activities in the field of sports and arts.


The Faculty of Law at UPJŠ in Košice also concluded the academic year with a graduation ceremony, at which 123 bachelor’s degree graduates and 122 master’s degree graduates in law received their diplomas. The university management awarded the Rector’s Prize to two master’s degree graduates for their excellent academic results throughout their studies and for representing the university and faculty at scientific events. Twelve master’s degree graduates and 23 bachelor’s degree graduates completed their studies with honors, for which they were awarded the Dean’s Prize. Along with them, three master’s degree graduates and three bachelor’s degree graduates received the Dean’s Award for their final theses.


A total of 108 bachelor’s degree graduates and 68 master’s degree graduates successfully completed their studies at the UPJŠ Faculty of Public Administration. Three master’s degree students and ten bachelor’s degree students received the Dean’s Award for outstanding academic results throughout their studies.


The management of the Faculty of Art at UPJŠ awarded diplomas to 172 bachelor’s degree graduates and 172 master’s degree graduates. The rector awarded prizes to six students for outstanding academic results, excellent grades in state final exams, and representation of the university and faculty at professional events. The dean awarded ten master’s degree graduates for outstanding academic performance, exemplary representation of the faculty, and their final theses. One bachelor’s degree graduate also received the dean’s award for representing the faculty.


Eleven students also successfully completed their studies in the sports and recreation program offered by the UPJŠ Institute of Physical Education and Sports. Their graduation ceremony is still to come on September 11, 2025.
