The Quaestor of UPJŠ in Košice, PhDr. Patrik Géci, accepted an invitation to the first ever meeting of the Municipal Secondary School Council (MSZ), which took place on January 22, 2026, at the Košice City Hall. At the beginning of the meeting, 64 secondary school students from 34 schools took a solemn oath, officially confirming their membership in the council. The next item on the agenda was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Košice Municipal Secondary School Council and the Student Council of Secondary Schools (ŠRSŠ). The memorandum was signed by Alex Báthory, Chancellor of the Košice Municipal Secondary School Council, and Viliam Dominik Ďuraš, Chairman of the ŠRSŠ.
“It was inspiring to see young, proactive people who are actively involved in public affairs while still in secondary school. We would be delighted to welcome such hard-working students to Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, where they will be able to continue developing their potential,” said Bursar Patrik Géci.
The outcomes achieved by the young representatives within the sports, culture, and transport working committee will then be submitted to the city’s expert committees and to the Košice City Council for discussion.
