The quality of educational institutions and the education they provide is reflected through statistics on the number of applicants for individual study programs, faculties, and universities. The Slovak Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR) compiles a list of the most popular universities and faculties in Slovakia based on information collected from public, state, and private universities in Slovakia.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, our university ranked 4th in terms of the number of applications received. According to CVTI SR, the most sought-after faculty in Slovakia is the Faculty of Medicine of UPJŠ, which ranked 1st with 2,752 registered applications. Compared to previous years, the number of applications submitted has been growing steadily, reflecting the increasing quality and reputation of our university.

A numerical overview of the admission procedure for the 2024/2025 academic year at Slovak universities is available on the website of the CVTI MŠVVaM SR. Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice received 6,215 applications for study in the 2024/2025 academic year. After the admission procedure, 3,100 applicants were accepted, with 1,949 applicants enrolling in the study program. With these numbers, UPJŠ ranked among the top ten most sought-after universities in Slovakia.
