UPJŠ WAS AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE RTVS CREATIVE CENTRE IN KOŠICE

On Tuesday 23 April 2024, RTVS officially opened its Creative Centre ARTÉNA which is located in Košice. Among the invited guests were also members of the academic community from the partner universities – Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and Technical University in Košice, which have signed Memorandums of Cooperation with RTVS.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director General of RTVS, Ľuboš Machaj, and the First State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Mário Maruška, the Vice-Rector for Interdisciplinary Education and Innovation at UPJŠ, Renáta Orosová, the Vice-Rector for Development and External Relations at TUKE, Rastislav Ručinský, members of the RTVS management team, representatives of the local government and experts from the audiovisual field. The speech of the Director General of RTVS was followed by a presentation of the renovated premises, which are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual workplaces focusing on education, work and experimentation with the most modern technologies in the audiovisual field. The ARTÉNA Košice Creative Centre has a Multimedia Room – cinema, a coworking space with nine workstations, four editing rooms, colour grading and a fully functional television studio with its own director and sound director.

“I see a lot of potential in creative centres for our students in the relevant fields. I believe that the existing cooperation will be expanded,” said Vice-Rector Renáta Orosová. The creative centre project was created thanks to a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund with the aim of stimulating the promotion of employment and the creation of new jobs in the cultural and creative industries. The project was launched in 2019 and still continues. In the next phase, events are in the pipeline that will offer those interested in working in the cultural and creative industries, as well as the general public, a space for learning and creative production on state-of-the-art technical equipment.
