UPJŠ Supported the Nationwide Campaign ‘Student Blood Drop’

‘Student Blood Drop’ is the second largest campaign at the national level that has an influence primarily on schools, but also on companies and organizations. Its purpose is to persuade mainly young people to donate blood regularly, which would ensure sufficient amounts of blood in healthcare system. ‘Student Blood Drop’ in our city is supported by Košice Regional Council, Archdiocese of Košice, the Technical University in Košice, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, General Health Insurance, Inc., Hospital Košice-Šaca, Inc. First Private Hospital, Eurotrade Plus, Ltd., Soroptimist Club, ČSOB Financial Group, Airport Košice, Inc.
Between 15 October and 16 November 2012 more than 2730 donors including 1528 students, visited the mobile and regular medical stations.  More than 500 people donated for the first time, out of which 418 were students. The most successful
universities were the Technical University in Košice (319/47), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (128/12), University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (94/22), Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economy in Košice (30/3).
