On September 20, 2023, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was visited by a distinguished guest from the USA, an expert on Metaverse/Web3, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Smart Cities, Dr. Jeannice Fairrer Samani. At the beginning of the event, the guest was introduced by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Silvia Rucinska. Dr. Samani captured the attention of the attending students with her immersive speech. The topic of dialogue with the participants was Artificial Intelligence and its intersection of various areas of our lives such as healthcare, banking, security, education, law and more. During the discussion, a number of interesting ideas was expressed about how the development of technology and artificial intelligence is already affecting us today, as well as what challenges lie ahead. Particular attention was paid to a topic relevant to the academia – plagiarism using AI.
The event was organized in cooperation with the US Embassy in Bratislava. Many thanks go to Dr. Samani and our guests from the Embassy for their appreciated visit to our University. We are also thankful for the substantial participation of our students in the event.
