First ECO Week at UPJŠ

1minút, 21sekúnd

As part of the ECO Week, which took place in the first week of May, the Commission prepared a really rich programme for the strategic plan “UPJŠ – Green University” in cooperation with the management of UPJŠ, the University Library and the Botanical Garden. In the Minerva building on the campus of the Faculty of Arts of UPJŠ, there was a swap organised for clothes, books and plants, which took place from Monday to Wednesday. Both students and staff swapped a lot. Still wearable pieces of women’s and men’s clothing found new owners. Those that remained were packaged and donated to charity. The University Library made a significant contribution to the book swap with many interesting publications from various fields. From psychology, philosophy, through history, law to medicine. The plants exchange was also a success. Avocados, houseleeks, mint or figs are already beautifying new offices or rooms. In addition, passers-by could enjoy excellent coffee from the Doraz café all the time.

On Thursday, ECO Week continued with the volunteer day “Help the Botanical Garden”, during which students and employees of UPJŠ improved the garden area. So, the rusty fence received a new coat of green-black paint. The reward for the participants was an excellent goulash from the university cafeteria.

At the end of the week, the ecological challenge that had ran throughout the week was judged. Three contestants were rewarded with prizes from the new university merch.

And what did ECO Week actually look like? Watch in a short video and photos.
