The globalized world, which we live in, creates ample opportunities and difficulties for communication among people of various cultural backgrounds. These issues were once again discussed by students from abroad who have participated in mobilities to Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. This semester, the Intercultural Communication course was attended by students from Turkey, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, and Hungary. The course was held in two sessions during which the participants discussed the cultural peculiarities of their home countries, and compared them to their experience in Slovakia. The students were led through the course by Mgr. Ing. Ingrid Madárová, PhD. of the Language Training Centre, Faculty of Arts. To set their gained knowledge in stone, the participants received promotional items in order the remind them of their stay at our university.

The course was a part of the project OnePoint, which aims at the creation of a contact point that would systematize the management of mobilities of students, teachers, and researchers.
