The president of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová appointed five university rectors on June 26, 2019:
- p. Pavol SOVÁK, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice
- p. Peter KÓNYA, University of Prešov in Prešov
- p. Stanislav KMEŤ, Technical University of Košice
- p. Mária HEINZOVÁ, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava
- p. René BÍLIK, University of Trnava
On this occasion the president wished them a lot of courage and work success: “I wish you much success, especially since today you have a commitment not only towards the teachers, students or employees of your universities, but also toward the people of Slovakia and the future of the country. You can make a great, if not the greatest, contribution to making the universities that you lead to become a place where the intellectual, cultural and artistic potential of our country will be enhanced and valued,” said the President.
