The distinguished American journalist James Steele gave a lecture at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice

The two-time holder of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize, the influential American investigative journalist James B. Steele visited in November 5, 2015 on Thursday, the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University Košice in order to meet the future journalists and media workers, who study at the Faculty of Arts of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. In his lecture with the title Truth Telling in An Age of Global Secrecy he concentrated on the importance of the journalists’ work from the perspective of the public’s right to truthful information, and from the perspective of the journalist, whose mission is to uncover truthful information and to present them to the public.  It was the third lecture from the series of the cycle Personalities personally, within which two laureates of the Pulitzer Prize Abigail Goldman (2013) a Walt Bogdanich (2014) had visited the grounds of the university in the past two years. As part of the event a workshop took place with selected students from the study programme Media studies in the Television and Film Studio of the Faculty of Arts of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice in the Aristotle building.

            The valued guest had been welcomed and received by the vice-rector for public relations prof. PhDr. Ján Gbúr, CSc., by the vice-dean for Science, Research, and PhD. Study of the Faculty of Arts doc. PhDr. Marián Andričík, PhD., and by the vice-dean for international relations of the Faculty of Arts Mgr. Renáta Panocová, PhD.
