Every year, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) publishes the Global 2000 List which ranks the top universities worldwide.
Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJŠ) is ranked 1,555th out of a total of 21,462 higher education institutions ranked. Thus, we placed among the top 7.3% of universities on a global scale.
Within Europe, UPJŠ ranked 514th and in Slovakia, it placed second out of four universities ranked.

CWUR hodnotí vzdelávacie inštitúcie od roku 2012. Ranking agentúry Center for World University Rankings sa nespolieha na prieskumy či dáta sprostredkované samotnými inštitúciami. Je zostavený na základe siedmich kritérií zoskupených do štyroch oblastí: kvalita vzdelávania (25 %), postavenie absolventov na trhu práce (25 %), akademickí zamestnanci (10 %), kvalita výskumu (40 %). Práve preto patrí medzi najväčšie a najprestížnejšie akademické hodnotenia.

Study Abroad Aide provides information about the academic environment at universities and thestudy programmes offered, especially for international students, in order to facilitate theselection of the most suitable university. The Best Value University Ranking evaluateseducational institutions based on two metrics: academic quality (75%) and cost of education(25%). In the ranking of Slovak universities, UPJŠ was awarded a silver medal, which shows theexcellent balance between quality and affordability of education provided at UPJŠ in Košice.
