In the ranking of world universities and scientific institutions “Webometrics Ranking of World Universities”, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice finds itself in the top four among Slovak universities. The ranking of the Spanish company Cybermetrics Lab rates scientific institutions from around the world on the basis of various, even indirect, indicators taking into account not only their scientific activities but also economic, social and cultural activities. The basic unit for rating is the domain of the institution, therefore only institutions with an independent web domain are included in the ranking.
The primary objective is to support publishing on the Internet, Open Access iniciatives, electronic access to publications and other academic sources.
