In 2021, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice ranked 126th place in the QS EECA University Rankings 2022 improving its performance when compared to the previous year despite the total university count being enlarged from 400 to 450. UPJŠ retained its 4th place among the 7 evaluated Slovak universities. Furthermore, it ranked 15th among the 25 Czech and Slovak universities, thus improving its performance by 4 ranks.
These rankings evaluate universities mainly based on their academic reputation and reputation among employers, but also take into consideration the quality of academic publishing or the number of students and faculty members.

In 2020, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was among the 400 universities in the QS EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) University Rankings 2021. The university count was enlarged by 50 more universities in comparison with the previous year (350 in 2019).These rankings evaluate universities mainly based on their academic reputation and reputation among employers, but also take into consideration the quality of academic publishing or the number of students and faculty members.
Based on the overall EECA evaluation, our university ranked 146th. Out of the 25 Czech and Slovak universities, UPJŠ ranked 19th and it was the 4th best out of the 6 Slovak universities that were included in the EECA rankings.

In 2019, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was among the 350 universities in the QS EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) University Rankings 2020. These rankings evaluate universities mainly based on their academic reputation and reputation among employers, but also take into consideration the quality of academic publishing or the number of students and faculty members.
Based on the overall EECA evaluation, our university ranked 150th. Out of the 24 Czech and Slovak universities, UPJŠ ranked 18th and it was the fourth best out of the six Slovak universities that were included in the EECA rankings.
