Proper separation training

1minút, 13sekúnd

We are convinced that our cleaners are the carriers of the philosophy of recycling waste. They are the first people who come into contact with waste. Therefore, in cooperation with KOSIT, we have prepared a training course on waste separation for them. On March 8, two training sessions were held on campus, attended by cleaners from across the university.

The participants were active through the whole session, asked a lot of questions and we also learned a lot about how they perceive how we students and employees separate waste. Cleaning lady Vierka Müllerová shared her impressions of the training. “Such education could be done more often because there were some things we didn’t really know, like paper towels don’t go in the paper collection bin, but into communal waste because they’re contaminated. The lecturer nicely explained to us what happens next with waste and what the benefit of sorting is. It was also an opportunity to talk about the shortcomings of waste management at the university, for example, that we don’t have enough paper collection bins. I appreciate that the Quaestor listened to our comments and this is being addressed.”

Since the training took place on International Women’s Day, the ladies present also received flowers from our Quaestor Michal Tkáč on this occasion.

We thank the lecturer from KOSIT Mrs. Slavomíra Brzová very much and we look forward to further cooperation. We also thank our cleaners for their work.
